No Legal Action After Woman Bites Into Razor Blade In Ice Cream
In East Texas, reports reveal that a woman bit into a razor in her Walmart ice cream. Stephanie Granger says that her Peanut Butter Stars cup "tasted funny" when she first started consuming it. Granger has said that she has no plans of suing Walmart. Instead, she just hopes that Walmart "reviews their safety procedures."

In TX, Granger wanted a snack for her movie. Great Value brand ice cream was what she chose. The inside of her lip got cut on a spoonful of ice cream though. Granger discovered a broken razor in the ice cream. She called Walmart customer service, where she states she was told "I'm sorry, I hope your day gets better." She said that the razor blade is “nobody’s fault” but wants Walmart to review procedures with safety when talking to local media outlets after that. Granger has indicated that she does not want to prosecute the company.
How Great Value ice cream is made
It isn’t really true that a woman bit into a razor in “Walmart ice cream” as several have reported. Great Value is the Walmart house brand, but it is not usually directly manufactured by Walmart. Products are contracted out by Walmart and are then given the Great Value label on it. That means that Walmart will need to contact the business that makes the ice cream and discuss the issue with them. Spokespeople say they're “opening a full investigation.” This is what Walmart is doing about it.
Unfamiliar objects in food
Foreign items have been showing up in manufactured food for as long as manufactured food has existed. All of the complaints of foreign items in food are addressed by both the United States Department of Agriculture and FDA. About one-third of reports of an unfamiliar object in food involve glass or other sharp objects. Discovering items as part of your food can be a really bad thing. If it happens, go to the food manufacturer and local health department.
