My three-year-old Trex deck has faded, unevenly. I am considering painting or staining it. Any advice?
My Winchester Grey Trex deck has faded, unevenly, even though the entire deck has the same exposure to sun and the elements. Replacing the deck is not an option, so I am considering painting or staining it. The trex.com site says that paints/stains take well and gives recommendations for brands to use. Have any of you actually tried this? What were the results? Thank you!
I don't have a deck, but I worked at a place that built many of them for customers. It's personal choice. BUT, remember, if you paint. you have the big problem to repaint. You will have to either sand, or strip off all the old to re-do. If you use stain, just clean well and restain.
