A guide to Lindeman Island, Australia
Lindeman Island, Australia, is one of the Lindeman Group of the Whitsunday Islands located off the coast of Queensland, Australia. Today the island features a Club Med resort, as well as a national park, which protects the fantastic thing about the island and permits visitors to enjoy all the local nature has to offer.
The area was initially discovered by Europeans when Captain James Cook travelled thru in 1770, but the island itself was not named till later on in the 1870s, when the island was named after the sub-lieutenant of the RN HMS Virago, George Sidney Lindeman.
The island stayed more primitive than other islands in the Whitsundays as the local Aborigines were protecting of it "it was a necessary part of their fishing routine, and their safe guarding of the island could be a contributing element to why lots of the land is protected today.
Attractions on the island include the Outer Reef, which can on occasion be enjoyed thru a walking trail, and Whitehaven Beach, which is a sweet place to take some sun and admire the surroundings. Miles of trails crisscross the island, and activities range from swimming, scuba swimming and sailing to trapeze, golfing, and archery at the Club Med resort. A Queensland Dept of the Environment and Heritage brochure is available to lead those that would like to explore the beaches and hills and learn about local wildlife.
Camping is available at Boat Port in the National Park, which supplies access to different bushwalks "Gap Beach, Mount Oldfield, and Plantation Beach, amongst others. The walks differ from simple to moderate, and afford amazing views of close by islands and rainforest. The bird watching in the park can be terribly rewarding.
Golf is a seriously well liked activity on the island, and many visitors take advantage of the opportunity on the 9-hole course, which offers views of the Whitsunday Passage. Also available is an 18-hole course, accessible by a 15-minute plane ride to a neighboring island.
Guests will find comfort in the island's many available facilities. Whether holidaying with family and friends, or attending a business meeting at the resort, everybody will be well placed to enjoy the available food options and access to the resort bars and restaurants. The resort also provides laundry facilities, medical services, and massage and spa services. For business wishes there are accommodations for as much as 200 guests, and gear for meetings the likes of projectors, lecterns, televisions and a sound system are available.
Getting there is simple. From Hamilton Island or Proserpine, a launch takes around an hour. Private helicopter or plane rides can be organized thru local airports for those who would enjoy a rather more personal journey. Lindeman Island, Australia, is definitely worth the trip.

RC Planes etc good hobby?
Hi i have heard about rc and helicopters,planes,boats what are they? What do you do with them? Are they good for what age? And are model war replicas good fro 13 12 and 15 year olds ??

Remote control toys can become an expensive hobby. I think they are good for any age from about 5 or so and older, depending on the interests of the individual. Not much you can do with them other than control them and make them do their stuff. I personally find them boring, but many people think they are great. Some teenagers like them and some are totally bored by them.
