I need a better gluing agent to bond metal to wooden veneer without screwing or nailing, what do I use?
I am gluing a small stainless steel hinge into a layer of wooden veneer. Over time every glue I have used gives me problem. I have tried Titebond III wood glue, which allows the round hinge to become loose and eventually come out. I tried using epoxy and it's just awful. I just started trying polyurethane glue (titebond, gorilla...) and I am afraid I will run into that problem again, BUT it seems to be working for now.
1. Is there something made to permanently (lifelong) bond a metal hinge to wood?
2. Should I just be satisfied with polyurethane and be confident in that decision?
