Mini Bikes For Kids Are A Growing Sport
Mini bikes for kids today includes a wide variety of different styles and types. In the "old" days we would think of a small frame wide sort of bike with go cart tires and a lawn mower engine. The mini bikes of old used predominantly a 3. 5 hp motor and a centrifugal clutch for transmission. Those days are gone, modern technology has taken over in the mini bike field.
When we speak of mini bikes today, we conjure up a whole new picture. The mini bikes of today come in many styles and varieties and are powered either with a gas or an electric motor. In this article, we are going to examine the many different types of mini bikes that are available today.
We will start with the Super Street bike mini bikes. These are what you would think, scaled down versions of super street bikes. Mainly scaled down versions of the Japanese "Crotch Rocket" variety of bikes that wheelie their way onto the freeway everyday. These can be customized and made to be very fast with the right accessories.
For the kid that wants to be like uncle "Buzz" we have the Chopper mini bikes. These are just like the full size choppers we hear on the road today, only scaled down to kid size. This is the fastest growing segment of the mini bike business today. Your creativity is the limit with the custom features you can purchase to go on these.
The closest of these mini bikes is the mini dirt bike, and are meant to be ridden only off road in closed environments like tracks. The difference in these mini bikes is that some of them, as the name suggests, are just scaled down versions of the classic motocross bike that we see at the track. Still, some are holding on to the same style we remember, just with quite a few improvements, like suspension for one.
The competitive kids might want to go for a Super Pocket Rocket. These are fast! These bikes are again, fashioned after the Japanese "crotch rocket" and some will go just as fast, do not let the size fool you. These are considered to be the most dangerous of the mini bikes.
There are also the electric versions of all these mini bikes for kids; however these are not nearly as fast or as sturdy as the others.
Safety comes first, with the electric mini bikes or the Super pocket rockets. Always make sure your child is wearing the proper safety gear before they go for a ride.
2000 montero sport engine help?
i have a mitsubishi montero sport with a 24 valve 3.0 liter engine. recently my engine has been running higher than normal rpms at 45mph it runs about 1500rpm now it runs about 2100rpm. also when idling my car shakes and the rpm jumps from 500 to 1000 and back again. i just changed the spark plugs and air filter. all my fluids are new also. idk if its a vacuum issue or a timing belt issue or what ever it is. I would really appreciate it if some one has any knowledge before i just start having parts fixed or replaced
it does have an check engine leak but all it said was miss firee in cylinder number 1 and i changed all the plugs and checked the injectors and when i was changing the plugs i noticed my intake manifold had an oil coating my pcv valve was stuck but i got it working again and i cleaned my egr valve as well shou;d i have these replaced as well or are they fine
Do you have a service engine soon light on? If so, swing by a auto parts store and let them scan it for you with a code reader. Most stores (such as Napa, Advance Auto, etc.) do this free of charge.
It may be a vacuum line blocked or broken, a slipped/jumped timing belt, or need something like a pcv valve.
To add after additional details: Okay, I would wonder first about the injectors. You say that they have been checked, so I will move on. Do you have any strong exhaust odors? If so I would check the catalytic converter.
Here is another idea for you. You sound mechanically minded, so if you are able to try swapping the #1 injector with another cylinder. This will either eliminate or isolate the injector as the problem (and it could very well be an o-ring on the injector.) If this does not eliminate the problem then I would think that you have a problem in a wiring harness, either a defective coil, or a power problem TO the coil. Run it in a dark environment (such as at night, not in a closed garage) and look for any arcing.
Good luck, whatever happens.
Official: Subaru debuts production BRZ sport coupe (Autoblog)
Filed under: Coupe, Performance, Japan, Tokyo Motor Show, Subaru
Toyoto's UK division spilled the beans on the production GT 86 over the
holiday weekend, and now Subaru has let loose on its version of this jointly
developed sports coupe: the BRZ. Not surprisingly, most of the details we know
about both models are identical, including their naturally aspirated 2.0-liter
horizontally opposed boxer engines, your choice of 6-speed manual or automatic
(with shift paddles) transmissions, rear-wheel-drive layout and low center of
gravity.
Toyota states that the GT 86's engine will produce 197 bhp and 151 lb-ft of
torque. Likewise, Subaru says its version will make a nice, round 200
horsepower and 151 lb-ft. Subaru also revealed a couple of tidbits that Toyota
left out, including a svelte curb weight of 2,689 pounds and a standard tire
size will be 215/45R17 rubber.
As for the car's design, there's nothing here we haven't seen before in the
various concept iterations of the BRZ (and FT-86, for that matter). It's up to
you to decide whether or not that's a good thing, but we'll just say we think
the BRZ's better angle is from the rear.
